Letter: Great roads ‘and Howe’

Now that winter is probably over, I would like to give a well-deserved thanks to Tyler Howe and his hard-working crew at the Hancock Highway Department for keeping our roads open and safe during a particularly stormy winter.

After working 12- and sometimes 18-hour days, the crew is right back at it sanding the roads, opening up intersections and winging back snowbanks in preparation for the next storm.

We sometimes take for granted our mail being delivered on time, our children being safely bused to school and our firefighters and EMTs responding quickly to an emergency. Without clear roads, all of this would be difficult.

Thank you, Hancock Highway Department, for a job well done.
