Local artists in popup show for Ukraine relief

Artists from around the region are donating their work for an upcoming fundraiser to benefit the Red Cross and their humanitarian work in Ukraine.

“We wanted to do something to help and figure out a way to send money over,” said Riley Young of Antrim, a Keene State College art student who is helping coordinate the event along with professors Emily Lambert and Lynn Richardson. “The nature of what’s occurring and how bad it was it made me feel like I needed to do something.”

The group is collecting 4- by 6-inch postcards from local artists and a group of students from ConVal High School which will be available for sale for $20 a pop-up gallery show at the Carroll House Art Gallery in Keene on Thursday, March 31 from 4 to 6 p.m.

“Some are Ukraine-themed and some are just original pieces,” Young said.
