On Feb. 14, police arrested Joshua Ellis, 30, of 36 Proctor Road of Wilton, on charges of possessing child sexual abuse images.

The arrest followed an investigation that began Feb. 15, 2024, after the Wilton police officer in charge of investigating internet crimes against children received a case referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

According to a release from the Wilton Police Department, police discovered that Ellis had allegedly been in possession of and was distributing child sexual abuse images. He was allegedly found to have more than 70 images and videos.

Ellis was charged with 10 counts of child sexual abuse images. He was arraigned in 9th Circuit Court Tuesday, where not guilty pleas were entered. He was held on preventive detention.
