Letter: Disappointment with the governor

On NHPR, I heard Gov. Chris Sununu's take on the Trump "fascist' rhetoric. In essence, the governor said that it is just Trump being Trump and that most Americans do not care about his speech.

To me this shows a callous lack of integrity on the governor's part. Trump's rhetoric has already ruined many innocent American lives, whether it be an election worker in Georgia, a police officer at the Capitol or a protester in Charlottesville. Trump's words inspired all of these events and more. He has inspired assassination attempts on his life that killed an innocent rally attendee. Is Sununu really so blind to the suffering caused by Trump?

Sure, Sununu opposed Trump in the primary but now, as a party hack, he is full in on Trump. The governor's argument holds water as well as the expression "boys will be boys.” I am disappointed that my governor is so spinless. I wish he would stand up for what is right and not just his chosen party.
