A Greenfield man sustained minor injuries in a head-on collision with a tree Thursday.

According to Police Chief Brian Giammarino said 29-year-old Nathaniel Iverson was driving southbound on Old Bennington Road shortly before noon when he dropped his phone and lost control as he was reaching for it. After the accident, he was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital with minor injuries and later released.

Giammarino said Iverson was wearing his seat belt, and both airbags deployed. He said the car was likely totaled, and was taken away by Mike’s Towing & Recovery.
