On Monday, the Greenfield town clerk’s office opened in its new space on the lower level of the town office building.

“The Police Department moved across the street to allow the other offices in the building more room, and we needed more storage so it just kind of all worked out,” Town Clerk Dorene Adams said.

Adams is very pleased with the move, which includes each clerk now having their own window for easy access.

“It’s going to be a great adjustment. It’s a lot easier for people to come into our office,” she said.

However, Adams expressed some sadness in the separation from the Police Department.

“I miss them. The police chief would always bring his dog Henry into the office, and now I have all of these dog treats I don’t know what to do with,” she said.

People can access the town clerk’s office from the parking lot, and hours are Monday 2 to 5 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday from 3 to 5:30 p.m. To make an appointment, call 603-547-2782, Ext. 2, or send email to townclerk@greenfield-nh.gov.
