Students from the Great Brook School’s Griffins’ Nest program traveled to Antrim Village to spend the day spring cleaning and planting the garden.

Students rebuilt a drainage ditch, potted 45 lilies, cleaned up leaves and helped thin out and weed flowers under the supervision of Pat Shutt, Antrim Village’s gardener and Lions Club member Mary O’Connell

The members of Griffins’ Nest are seventh- and eighth-grade students who are peer mentors, assist in GBS’s fifth-grade math classrooms and do other community service activities. This trip was part of a partnership with Antrim Village and the Antrim/Bennington Lions Club.
