Francestown Land Trust to feature forest talk

Francestown Land Trust will hold its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at the Old Meeting House, 1 New Boston Road, Francestown. Refreshments and informal conversation will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a brief business meeting and presentation.

This year’s featured speaker is Sarah RobbGrieco, Northeast regional manager for the Old-Growth Forest Network. She will discuss the characteristics and ecological value of old-growth forests, how to identify them and the role they play in biodiversity, clean air and water and carbon storage.

RobbGrieco will also explain how the national Old-Growth Forest Network works to protect and promote these forests in New Hampshire and beyond.
