Peterborough First Friday is June 6

Downtown Peterborough will host its monthly First Friday event from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 6, with extended hours at local shops, live music, art exhibits and special programs to mark Juneteenth and Father’s Day. 

 

New businesses joining this month include Moon Glow Esthetics on Grove Street, offering first-time service discounts and treats; and Nidu Studio + Tribals | Rugs by Hand in Depot Square, where passersby are invited to add wishes or worries to a communal woven net.

Live music by Lipkin & Hitt Duo will take place outside Baker’s Station Café, moving inside Twelve Pine if it rains. 

MacDowell Downtown at Bass Hall begins at 7:30 p.m. with visual artist Sama Alshaibi presenting "Palimpsest as Image," exploring memory and displacement through photography and video. The free event includes refreshments. More information is at macdowell.org/events.

Also at 7 p.m., the Monadnock Country Club on High Street hosts a Troubadour Revue, with eight local acts performing short sets and audience voting.

MAxT Makerspace, 50 Jaffrey Road., will hold an all-ages Art Jam from 6 to 8 p.m. with artist Hannah Banana. Visitors can use provided supplies or bring their own.

The Mariposa Museum on Main Street presents a preview of Peterborough Players’ upcoming season with director Brendon Fox and actor Brian Owen sharing insight into their production of “Boeing Boeing,” which opens June 18.
