Mark Ellingwood to talk turkeys at Hancock Town Library

Wildlife biologist Mark Ellingwood will present “Let’s Talk Wild Turkeys in New Hampshire” on Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m. at the Hancock Town Library, 25 Main St.

The free program will cover the history of wild turkeys in New England, including their disappearance from the region and eventual return, as well as the birds’ behavior, flock dynamics and winter survival strategies.

Ellingwood, a Hancock resident and certified wildlife biologist, spent 43 years in the field before retiring in 2021 as wildlife division chief for the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
