The Dublin Community Center will host an opening reception for its May exhibit, “The Critter Show,” on Friday, May 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the DubHub, 1123 Main St., Dublin.

The show features six artists whose work explores animals through various mediums. Joan Barrows paints native New Hampshire species in acrylic on reclaimed drop cloth, mounted on handmade frames. Learn more at joanbarrows.com.

Jane E. Simpson uses found paper, vintage photographs and sewing notions to create mixed media art. She is a Keene State College graduate, League of New Hampshire Craftsmen member and a three-time I-Park Foundation fellow. Learn more at monadnockart.org/profile/jsimpaon.

Mary Iselin paints draft horses, cattle and landscapes in oil. She shows her work in galleries in Dorset and Brattleboro, Vt., and in Keene. Learn more at maryiselinfineart.com.

Rosemary Conroy paints large-scale animal portraits and has studied wildlife in Canada, the United States and the Dominican Republic. Learn more at rosemaryconroyart.com.

John Kenyon of West Lebanon paints animals and historic figures in oil. His work has been shown in Portsmouth, Concord and Lebanon. Learn more at kenyoncollection.com.

David Bulger of Keene works in paint and pencil from his Harrisville studio.
