Dublin Community Center honors Peter, Paul and Mary

The Dublin Community Center will host a singalong concert celebrating the music of Peter, Paul and Mary at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at 1123 Main St., Dublin.

Eight local groups will perform three songs each, including Decatur Creek, Kota, Off the Cuff duo, Fortune’s Favor, Monica Laskey and& Jake Garrels, Gwir and Abhai Raj Llewellyn, Jack Bopp and Volkert Volkersz and Scott Heron.

Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Admission is by donation, and seating is first come, first served. A snow date is set for 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23.

The concert honors Peter, Paul and Mary’s influence on folk and acoustic music, featuring songs by Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot, Tom Paxton, Hedy West, Kate Wolf, and Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey. Yarrow’s death on Jan. 7 inspired the event.
