Although the Planning Board had heard a conceptual design in early October of 2006 for a grocery store and a pharmacy on Route 101, TF Moran president and The Village at Peterborough member Robert Cruess refused to reveal their names.

However, Shaw’s Supermarkets eventually announced that it has reached an agreement with the Village at Peterborough to build a new 38,500-square foot supermarket on Route 101 West.

“ Shaw’s looks forward to being a community partner in Peterborough,” stated Carl Jablonski, president of Shaw’s, in a press release “We will work closely with town officials and the Peterborough Planning Board in order to create a project that residents will embrace and be excited about.”

The news was reported in the Oct. 24, 2006, Monadnock Ledger-Transcript – the first Tuesday publication of the twice-weekly paper that still exists today.
