Nine ConVal student-athletes will be going on to play at the college level.
“We have a quite a few this year. It’s very impressive for a school this size, and we’re very proud of them,” said ConVal Athletic Director Larry Pimental.
Six of the students attended a signing ceremony Thursday at ConVal. Ronia Foecking and Zoey Lazzaro are both headed to Vermont for college. Foecking will play field hockey for St. Michael’s College in Colchester, and Lazzaro will be playing soccer at Norwich University in Northfield.
James Healey will be staying closer to home and playing football for New England College in Henniker. Emily Steinberg will be attending Midway University in Midway, Ky. and competing in Western equestrian.
Isabella Messa will be playing field hockey for Lasell University in Newton, Mass. Will Simard will also be headed to Massachusetts, as he will be running both indoor and outdoor track and field for UMass Lowell.
Students were not able to attend Thursday’s event were Avery Moore, who will play softball at University of Southern Maine; Kendrick Edwards; who committed to run track at Bryant University; and Maxx Telofski, who will be on the track team at Plymouth State University.
