Three accidents before 10:30 am on Thursday kept Peterborough Fire and Rescue busy on a morning of messy weather.

Chief Ed Walker said that at 6:07 am, two cars were involved in an accident at Routes 101 and 123/Elm Hill Road which resulted in minor injuries and one individual being transported to Monadnock Community Hospital.

At 9:02 a.m., an accident involving a vehicle at the intersection of Route 101 and Union Street also resulted in an individual being transported to MCH with minor injuries.

At 10:10 a.m., a driver heading north on Route 123 in Sharon failed to negotiate a turn and went off the road approximately 20 feet into the woods just south of McCoy Road. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was successfully removed from the woods.

“In all the cases, it seemed that slippery roads were a factor -- and not driving carefully enough in light of them. This weather was in the forecast,” Walker said.
