The Corner Gallery, 2 Main St. in Jaffrey, will host an opening reception for “Brotherhood of Thieves” Friday, Oct. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m.

“Brotherhood of Thieves” is an exhibition of collage and assemblage work by artists from across New England examining the relationship between the art form and its materials. Focused on “original source materials” ranging from musical instruments to oil paintings, the show explores an artwork’s ability to consume and transform rare and storied matter while taking on its unique substance, history, and venerability.

Participating artists include John Baker, Todd Bartell, Cindy Blakeslee, Stina Kohnke, Sarah Seaver and Peter Thomashow. One of the Monadnock area’s newest art spaces, The Corner Gallery features changing exhibitions and events operated by artist/antique dealer Sarah Seaver.

The event is open to the public, and refreshments will be served.
