Bennington man arrested after Hillsborough vehicle pursuit

Hillsborough police arrested a Bennington man Sunday following vehicle pursuit.

According to a release from the Hillsboro Police Department, Andrew Fletcher Mackenzie, 22, of Bennington, failed to stop for officers attempting to initiate a traffic stop and fled at a high rate of speed. During the pursuit, police stated he struck a traffic island, causing damage to his vehicle, which ultimately came to a stop on Antrim Road just past the courthouse.

Mackenzie was arrested without further incident. He was held on $5,000 cash bail at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections. Charges include disobeying an officer, reckless operation, negligent operation, operating after certified habitual offender and uninspected vehicle.
