No one was seriously injured after a single car accident on Tuesday, June 3, at 5:35 p,m, near the intersection of Route 202 and Milk Road in Antrim. First responders from Antrim Fire and Rescue found that one vehicle had left the highway and traveled about 50 feet before hitting a tree.

The operator, who was able to exit the vehicle with help from a passing driver, had some abrasions but did not wish to be transported to the hospital.

Antrim Fire Chief Marshall Gale said that during the rescue effort at the scene, first responders were endangered by an “impatient driver” who drove around the rescue effort at a high speed.

“We want to emphasize to all drivers that when you come across first responders working on the roadway at an accident scene, please slow down, move over, and obey personnel that are directing traffic,” Gale said. “At this incident, we had a driver pull out and go around us at a high rate of speed, endangering our people.”
