We want Kennedy

To the editor:

Bill Kennedy is the kind of person we need to have on the Peterborough Select Board. He is thoughtful and smart, and he cares what happens to this town and its people. As a candidate, he identified several issues that are affecting the quality of life in Peterborough. And then he did the research to find possible solutions to these problems. He has laid out these ideas in his candidate profile, which was published in the Ledger Transcript last week. That kind of initiative and attention to detail is important for this job. We need someone who will not be afraid to say what needs to be done, but who also can come up with workable solutions.

Here is a personal example of Bill Kennedyโ€™s forward thinking and his interest in community and in connecting people. He is also our neighbor. He is the kind of neighbor weโ€™d all like to have. A few years ago, he and his wife Jeanne held a party for neighbors on our street. Most of us didnโ€™t know each other. It was such a success, it has since become a regular event on our street. These parties have extended the sense of community and friendship in this neighborhood and connected us in important ways.

We want to give Bill the opportunity to make these kinds of connections within the community of Peterborough by electing him to the Select Board. Please consider these qualities when you are voting for Select Board in this election. Where else can you find them?
