At its May 5 meeting, 100+ Women Who Care Cheshire County selected Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention to receive this quarter’s donations, totaling $19,000.
MCVP provides crisis intervention and educational outreach to raise awareness about domestic and sexual violence and stalking. The donation will support the hiring of a part-time prevention educator to expand programming in schools and the community, with a focus on healthy relationships and violence prevention.
Since launching in November 2016, 100+ Women Who Care Cheshire County has grown to over 360 members and contributed more than $595,000 to Cheshire County nonprofits. Each member pledges $50 per quarter, and the group selects one nonprofit per meeting to receive the funds.
The next meeting will be Monday, Aug. 4 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Monadnock Covenant Church, 90 Base Hill Rd., Keene. Refreshments and social time begin at 5:30 p.m. New members and guests are welcome.
