Letter: Cowards to the right

Campaign signs are a fact of life during political campaigns. Why are so many supporters of former President Donald Trump afraid of them?

I’m referring to the disappearing Harris/Walz signs. I have been involved with putting signs out for many presidential rounds. It wasn’t until candidate Trump came on the scene that signs for opponents started to disappear. Is the campaign so fragile that even the hint of opposition sends them into a tizzy? Are they afraid of a fair fight? Do they think that having more signs than the opposition makes their candidate better?

The truth is they are afraid of a fair fight. They know they will lose. That’s why Republicans have worked steadily to gerrymander districts, pass restrictive voter laws and question the integrity of elections they lose. The fact is most voter fraud has been done by registered Republicans who knowingly voted in more than one district. Even then, there have been only 16 cases of voter fraud since 2016.

I recently heard from a friend in another town asking for donations to buy more signs due to theft (it’s illegal). What’s a little law matter to the party of “law and order”? Nothing, for Trump supporters a little larceny is par for the course. If you can dismiss 34 felony convictions with more on the way, what’s a little misdemeanor? Afraid of a fair fight, afraid of facts, Trump is the only one who matters, the hell with democracy! Vote for ethics, not cowards/ Vote blue.
