In recognition of National Volunteer Month, The River Center acknowledges the 20 volunteers who donated over 600 hours completing training, greeting and preparing tax returns through our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

Our volunteers saved households over $90,000 in tax filing fees — leaving more money in the pockets of these people and in our local economy. Thanks to our partnership with Granite United Way, who applied for the IRS grant which pays for the program in part, our volunteers and two staff members were able to complete well over 300 federal tax returns at no cost to the filers.

These generous and dedicated volunteers are David Bernstein, Kathleen Brewer, Brad Bull, Lizzie Crespo, Vance Finch, Geoff Frank, Deb Fredericks, Paddy Garrett-McCarthy, Betsy Gordon, Jim Hassinger, Skip Iltis, Peter Kingsley, Tina Kriebel, Janine Lesser, Rick Lesser, Helen Limina, Bob Meagher, Vicky Moylan, Suzanne Robinson, JepStreit, Lynn Thibodeau and Sage Wheeler.

We are so thankful and proud of all of them. They truly made a difference in the eastern Monadnock region, strengthening individuals and families for a stronger community.
