Scott Bakula starring in Peterborough Players’ ‘Man of La Mancha’

Scott Bakula will star in this summer’s Peterborough Players production of the musical “Man of La Mancha” as Don Quixote Aug. 14 to 25.

Bakula is known for television work as Sam Beckett on “Quantum Leap” – for which he was nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe awards (winning once) -- and as Capt. Jonathan Archer on “Star Trek: Enterprise.” From 2014 to 2021, he portrayed special agent Dwayne Cassius "King" Pride on “NCIS: New Orleans.”

On Broadway, he was a Tony Award nominee for the musical “Romance/Romance” and recently starred in the off-Broadway musical, “The Connector.” His film and TV credits also include the comedy-drama series “Men of a Certain Age” and guest-starring in the second and third seasons of NBC's “Chuck.”

Playing opposite Bakula as Aldonza will be his wife Chelsea Field, who also starred on “NCIS: New Orleans” as Rita Devereaux. She has an long list of film and TV credits and started her career as a dancer on “Solid Gold.”

Charles Morey, interim producing artistic director, stated, “We are incredibly fortunate and pleased that Scott and Chelsea have joined us for ‘La Mancha.’ It has been a project they have wanted to do together for years. We met in New York a few weeks ago and I was tremendously impressed by not only their extraordinary talent but their passion for this show and their genuine desire to collaborate with the Peterborough Players on this wonderful piece of musical theater. I am sure the Monadnock region will love their work on our stage.”

The Players will announce further casting for the season as it develops. All casting is subject to availability.
